Six clients per class, never more
Every reformer class caps at six. Your teacher learns your body — your tight hip, your sore knee, the way your breath changes near the end. You get the corrections you actually need.
Reformer and mat classes from beginner to advanced. Build strength and ease tension daily.
We are deliberately small. No mirrored walls, no music playlists chasing the beat. Just precise teaching, soft natural light, and the time to actually feel each movement.

Our teachers hold 600-hour comprehensive certifications and continue training every year. We follow the classical reformer repertoire while paying attention to what your body needs today, this week, this stage of life.
Natural light, wooden floors, terracotta walls, plants. No flashing screens, no shouted counts. The room is built to let you breathe — and we keep the temperature, the volume, and the pace exactly there.
Slow Studio opened in 2019 because we couldn't find what we were looking for. The other studios in the city were either crowded reformer factories with stopwatch energy, or sleepy mat classes that never quite challenged us. We wanted both — precision and warmth, intensity and care.
So we built it. Six reformers, soft natural light, classical teaching, no upsells. Our founder still teaches the 7 a.m. class on Tuesdays.
"Movement is medicine when you do it slowly enough to listen."
Most of our regulars came on a friend's recommendation and stayed for years. Many of them have never been to another studio since. That is the kind of place we are.
Each class runs 55 minutes. All levels welcome — your teacher will adapt the work to where your body is on the day.
The full classical reformer repertoire — footwork, hundred, leg circles, short box, long stretch, elephant. Spring-loaded resistance teaches your body to move with precision. The work that built pilates.
The mat repertoire, taught slowly. We use small props — a magic circle, a soft ball, light hand weights — to find the deep core engagement that makes everything else easier. Recommended starting point.
A continuously flowing reformer sequence — no long pauses, no resets between exercises. Builds cardiovascular work into the classical repertoire without ever sacrificing form. Sweat without the noise.
Slow, supported work on the reformer combined with myofascial release using a small ball or soft roller. For tight hips, sore necks, stressful weeks. Often the best class to take the day before a big run or long flight.
All times shown in local time. Each class is bookable up to two weeks ahead. Cancellations more than 12 hours before are credited back to your account.
Three ways to practise with us — choose what fits your week. No long-term contracts, no joining fees, ever.
Your first drop-in class is 25% off — code applied at booking. We also offer a senior discount and reduced rates for students with valid ID; please ask.
We ask new clients to give themselves three months before deciding whether the work is for them. Here are notes from three who stayed.
I came in with chronic lower-back pain after years at a desk. After about ten reformer classes the pain was simply gone, and I haven't felt it since. I keep coming because of how I feel afterwards, but the pain relief was what got me through the door.
I had tried two other studios and felt totally lost — everyone was already there with their water bottles and their precise movements. At Slow Studio the teacher actually walked me through the reformer setup before class. I felt human, not stupid.
I came for the core work, hoping it would help with running posture. Six months in, my marathon time dropped by twelve minutes and a hip issue that had been nagging for years has fully resolved. I am genuinely a better athlete because of one hour a week here.
